A Little Quiet Around Here...

Friday's post is still simmering and until it's finished, I'm stopping in real quick. Tonight we are off to watch Austyn walk across the stage for graduation. I may not blog about the boys as much because--well, teenage boys aren't really into that sort of thing. But they are very much a part of our life, and watching Brett button up the sleeves on Austyn's shirt tonight and helping him loop his tie, I felt so proud. Of both of them.

I read one book on step families when I married Brett, but mostly I've learned by living it. More kids equals more love--for everyone. And I am so proud of this young man who would laugh if he knew I called him a "young man."

He's kind of awesome. And tonight he graduates.

I'll be back in later for road trip prep, Friday Photo Dump and some new fun ideas brewing.

Congratulations, Austyn! Kelle, you always manage to make me tear up. I just finished reading Bloom, and I can't even guess how many tissues I went through.

I do envy your easy relationship with the boys and even their mother. We've gone through all sorts of crap (rob's ex-wife has never supported time for rob and his daughter to see eachother) and I think Rob and Steph are the losers, in her power trip. Steph and I actually get along well. I hope that once we get through the teenage years, that she'll realise he loved her all along. That he didn't abandon her. Problem is they're both the same they won't talk through something that upsets them, ignore it on the surface, but are hurt underneath.

Sorry for that down load! Congratulations to Austyn, love Brett's proud face.

As a fellow step mom, I know how it can be sometimes when you're dealing with meshed families. But you are so right about more kids being more to love. People have infinite capacity for love if we just open ourselves up to it!

Great picture of the graduate with his proud dad!!! Congratulations Austyn!

And you know how sometimes you can look at a picture of someone and you just KNOW they're a neat person? Well, I've always thought that about Austyn before I really even knew much about him (and still don't know much).

....neat kid, er young man!

I love these posts with snippets of one or both of the boys. My Hubs is (step)father to my oldest two, as well. Lots and lots of love.

I had put off digging back into Bloom until last night because we moved house, we had the home school year to finish, and I KNEW if I picked it up and started it that I would not be able to put it down. Nearly done. Had to stop for stirring babes who needed to be held close and reassured in the wee hours.

My favorite parts? The boys' reaction and tenderness with Nella. And with Lainey. That tenderness, those sweet sibling hearts are so unbelievably precious--I have been blessed countless times by the things my children have realized, exclaimed, proclaimed about their little brother with a little something extra. Such amazing tenderness.

Love it. Love these pictures. Looks so much like Brett. Sending you loads of love and thanks and blessings from up here in Canada. xoxo

Congratulations to Austyn and all of you! My youngest daughter, Kelly, graduates tomorrow, too. Gathering photos for her Senior All Night Party was pretty heart-wrenching (about half her life is digital - the other half made for lots of photo album hefting!). So happy for her and excited for what is to come (Go Blue!), but kind of bummed for me that it went by so fast. I remember her squealing to get on that kindergarten bus like her big brothers. And now...she wants to "party" (I think she means study!) like her big brothers - UGH! Times change! Congrats, again, and have a great celebratory weekend!
