It ain't apple pickin', but...

...it was a perfect September getaway.

Photobucket

Just rolled in late, slipped sleeping babies still in their clothes under covers and almost finished editing 100 of some of my most favorite pictures ever.

Photobucket

Unplanned and uncharted, we ventured out into the streets of South Beach by day and joined up with Brett by night to make sweet family memories. We spent little money but had a lot of fun--in two days that seemed like weeks.

Photobucket

Off to bed, but back tomorrow to post more.

Photobucket
I love, love, love this photo.

Can't wait to see more pics and hear more about this sweet family time! I wish I knew what Nella and Lainey were discussing in that pic. Clearly solving many of the world's problems. Love.

Love when they're so deeply sleeping that jammies don't matter.

The black & white of the girls....goodness! This might be my favorite of them together to date. Nella's like, "Can you believe that?" And Lainey's like, "So let me see if I got this straight....."

Looking forward to more....
Sweet dreams :)

Ok...follow me on this...the black and white pic of the girls immediately made me think of dialogue that goes something like this:
N: Look behind me. What in the world?
L: Hold on...oh! Whoa. I know.
N: What is THAT all about?
L: I don't know...

Of course "that" could be anything/anyone being silly/crazy/idiotic, but the facial expressions and gestures make me laugh!

love that last pic! looks like the girls are engaged in some great debate. Politics? or nail polish color, perhaps?

Rik said...

And once you worried that you had failed in giving Lainey that sister she longed for...look at the deep communication between the spirits of these sisters in that photo. A language of love that needs no words--a telepathic exchange that will guard their secrets and torment their parents! Ahhh...sisters! Sometimes it is the inexpensive, serendipitous getaways that do more for us and mean more to us than those we plan and prepare for. Live with unfettered abandon, Love with an endlessly open embrace, Look with the widest, softest lens and all will be wonderful!

I LOVE silouette photos, and that one is such a great, non-traditional family portrait. Beautiful. I also love the b&w shot- there's so much sisterly interaction caught there, with Nella's hand up and the looks on their faces. I just love your blog (there is lots of love in this comment).

The picture of Nella and Lainey is pretty much priceless! Very deep conversation there! Or was it a "Lainey, WHY did you just wake me up?"

Your children are such darlings!

I am still cracking up over you shouting to Lainey, "Babe, I don't think we should do that!" That's definitely something I would do: give permission to something I then think better of. :) Gorgeous pictures.

Went to the Keys this spring and we decided we need two more trips down there: one for South Beach and the other for Key West. I want to experience the vibrance and dichotomy of both of those spaces.

That shot of Nella eating your gellato cracks me up! So glad that you had an unbridled adventure.

Happy Friday.

Hi Kelle.

My wife introduced me to your blog and I really enjoy it. It looks like you have a very fun family.

I have a question about how you get such deep blue skies like the one of your daughter on the beach. Are you using a polarizing filter?
