He leaves the toilet seat up sometimes. And he thinks "Be ready in ten minutes" means "In ten minutes, start thinking about getting ready." Sometimes we argue about really stupid things. And we're both stubborn.
We are different in a lot of ways but similar in the ones that really matter. Like family. And love. And where we want to be ten years from now.
Five years ago, we walked hand-in-hand down the skinny aisle of a small white chapel. We had big dreams. Most of them have come true.
We're still dreaming though.
The five happiest years of my life, hands down.
To many more.
I like him.
And I think it's important that you know Brett's cheapass bracelet is the As-Seen-on-TV Renew bracelet. The one that promises strength and endurance and power. Can you hear me laughing? Well, I am. I love the way he loves a good gimmick. And the way he loves his kids. And the beach. And family. And life.
That is all.
Happy Anniversary to Us.
Wedding memories HERE and HERE.

On the last evening of June, I snuck out of the house for my final hoorah in my challenge. I didn't run. I walked. Slowly and mindfully. No music. Just crickets and the random crunch from a junebug under my shoe. I pushed the stroller while Nella fell asleep, and I watched the eastern sky ignite with heat lightning. It was peaceful, a good way to go out.
The winner of The Meg Shop earrings: Comment #230, lovemy3: Love the pictures of the girls at the bookstore and the pics of the birthday celebration. I had a friend suggest your blog and it has been such a blessing in disguise. Our little peanut, Hailey, was born with Down syndrome and we, like you, didn't know until she was born. She is having open heart surgery next week and just reading your blog helps me focus beyond her surgery and to "enjoy the small things". Thank you!
Congratulations, lovemy3. Little Hailey is in our thoughts...hoping all goes smoothly next week, and she is home in your arms where she belongs...soon! Please e-mail your info to kellehamptonblog@comcast.net so your ears can look pretty.

New sponsor alert: one of my most favorite stores for children's clothing, Tea Collection. I drooled over their catalogue before I even had kids, dog-earring all sorts of cute things for my imaginary children. They are real now. And I love when they wear anything from Tea. My favorite: Lainey's painters overalls. I once pulled them out of the dirty clothes so she could wear them again. That's how much I love them.

And I love their gypsy pants and ruffled shirts. We mix and match for all sorts of funky combinations.
We are so excited to have Tea on board this month.
A $100 gift certificate to Tea Collection will be given to a lucky commenter on this post. Tell me, though, where do you want to be in five years? Life flew for us since 7-01-06. In your dreams, what will your life look like on 7-01-16?

We're out for pizza tonight to celebrate our five and looking forward to some holiday fun this weekend.
You can watch the BYU Inspiring Stories episode by clicking HERE. Ours is the last of three, but watch them all. They are important and inspiring.
Have a fabulous 4th!
* Thank you, Lainey, our photo booth photographer.

xo,

I love Lainey's little moccasins! ...and is it just me or does her dog look like it is frozen in a state of puppyhood? You've posted pictures of her/him forever, so it has to be full grown, but it always looks like a puppy to me! Makes me want to trade my overgrown, terribly matted cockapoo for a smaller version :)
Happy Anniversary!!
congrats - you are a beautiful family - we want to be right where we are now - happy and healthy!
omg - LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics of you and brett! happy 5 years! it will be 5 years next august for my husband and i...we'd like to have another baby in our family at that point and have my husband be done with school and doing what he loves. :-)
In five years my daughter will be 12. 12! And my son will be 7. 7! Those numbers seem impossibly old. My husband and I will still be here in our little house with our two kids cheering them on every day as they face new challenges. We'll hopefully be planning our first big trip away * I'm thinking Hawaii...and we'll be somehow even more in love then we already are although I don't know how that could be. Next week is our 10 year anniversary and these past 10 years have been amazing, Amazing. Love your blog.
In 5 years my husband will have his first real job! We will be living in a PERMANENT residence and we will have a yard so that our children can run and play with a future dog. I will have 4 glorious children and my husband will be exactly the way he is- cause I just wouldn't change him a single bit!
In five years I hope to be on some grand adventure with my three littles (4,3,1) who won't be so little. I can't wait until they are big enough to walk trails without asking to be "uppy duppy!"
Congrats on 5 years!!
In five years I hope that my husband has been able to go back to being the entrepeneur that he's meant to be and that I can go back to being a stay-at-home mom. We also hope to add another little one (or two) to our family in that time! :)
Adorable clothes, love your blog!

happy anniversary! 5 years from now, still enjoying life fully together and with our sweet kiddos : )
in 5 years, i look forward to family swims in our pool; our very-much-prayed-for little girl will be almost 5 by then (26 weeks pregnant this week!)! i cant wait to see what our family looks like in 2016- maybe another baby blessing by then?- i'm sure the best is yet to come!
I want to add one more baby to our family and I want my husband to find a job outside of law enforcement!
Five years from now...loving life, enjoying my family, watching my kids grow and change in ways I can only imagine. It's hard to believe that in 2026 I'll be 51! Still loving life, enjoying my family and celebrating the amazing people my children have become!
In five years I hope to be doing bigger kid things with my now very little littles. Amusement parks, camping, Disney World, and of course with my husband :) We celebrate 5 years in January!
p.s. Five years from now? I hope I have loooots of grandbabies ...and maybe even one more of our own:) Cuz I've already done the Ds thing, so the risks of having a baby in my forties doesn't scare me anymore!
What a fun post!
Congratulations!
I love you both so very much!
Missing you.
5 years from now?
our house will be full, I'm sure of it...
we're going to bring home our first child this fall...a 3 year old boy with Down syndrome, who's waiting so patiently in an orphanage for his momma & papa.
5 years from now we'll still be living our dream!
Happy anniversary! Five years from now I want to "us" to have littles of our own! AND I want us to live in a warm climate again :)
Watched the BYU special last night, got me teary-eyed. It was lovely.
Happy anniversary Kelle and Brett! Side note: I want a pair of painters overalls just like Lainey's!
Cheers to five years!
Oh, where to be... Here's my top 5 for 5 :)
1. I will be a registered nurse caring for the lives of thousands of others.
2. I will have married my best friend and soulmate.
3. I will have a destination wedding!
4. Will I have moved back East to be closer to family? Or will I have finally settled into my own nook in Colorado?
5. I will have babies on the brain? Or maybe just a puppy! :)
Dare to dream.... And happy 4th!
Happy anniversary! As long as my family is healthy and together in the same house, I don't care what else the next 5 years brings! Cuz that's all we really need.
In five years? Wow, I will have a high school senior and a kindergartener. That's crazy.
Where I hope to be, though, is in med school, which is crazy, too!
I love crazy!
Happy 5th!! You guys are very cute. <3
What a great post, Kelle! Happy
5th Anniversary!
In 5 years, I hope to be enjoying life with my hubby of 12 years (!) and my 9 year old & 7 yeard old little girls. Well, they won't be little by then but they will always be my babies! :)
congrats on your anniversary! My husband and I will be celebrating 9 years in December. It's hard for me to see where we will be in 5 years since I don't know where we will be living due to my husband's job, but I know that I will have him by my side, he's been with me through thick and thin.
Five years..I hope to have gone to hawaii!! ye-haw! It's my big dream, but our little one's dream must come first!! Next year Disneyland for her dream trip! ; )
ahhh, I love it! Congratulations on 5 years :)
In 5 years our youngest will be 6.5 and I pray that hubbs and I will be well established in our respective ministries and pressing onward toward reaching new "unreachable" souls.
I pray I'll still be a homeschooling mommy, but instead of juggling the little ones, actually teaching them. Ha!
And I pray we're even more in love than we are at this, (ours, too!!) our 5th summer of marriage.
Happy Anniversary! Lainey did a great job on the pics. Where I want to be in 5 years....just happy and healthy and with my wonderful husband and kids (and maybe add 1 or 2 more babies to our family).
hmmm...in 5 years i will have been married 13 years to my high school sweetheart, we'll have a 10 year old and an 8 year old! i love my lil family and wouldn't trade it for the world!!
Happy anniversary to you both!
In the next 5 years, I have big dreams as well. Move out of the desert to somewhere that has real trees and seasons. Finish my clinical training so I can start practicing. Start our own little family.
I only hope our journey is as beautiful as yours. :)
We got married a month before you- 6/3/06. Best five years ever, indeed.
In five years? I expect we'll have a couple more kids, and live somewhere more rural than we do now. And be even more in love.
I hope to have one more kid by then and be sleeping at LEAST 8 hours a night ;)
Happy Anniversary! We will be 5 years in October. 06 what a great year! Great job Lainey on the pics!
Happy 5 year Anniversary!!!! LOVE all the pics of you and Brett, you two are adorable! In 5 years...hmmmm...well just where we are now I would say with another little to add to the bunch! Happy 4th of July weekend!!!!!
tea collection is my fave!!!!!
in five years I hope to be able to take more big vacations w/ my fam, not just weekend trip like we do now, but big long trips to far away places, I don't care where to as long as it is far far away!
In five years....I may be a mama of two, but at the very least, I'll be the best mama possible to the one I have now! (I love Tea clothing, btw - such soft and yummy fabrics!)
yay for you. congrats. love your blog and inspiration.
Happy Anniversary to you! May you be just as cute together in another five, fifteen, and fifty years!
In my five years from now, I'd like to be right where I am: writing and taking care of my kids. I can't think of anything better.
I got married 6 months ago and have dreamed about my kids clothing, nursery, and everything else already. In 5 years I hope to be a mom to fulfill my dreams!
Happy 5 year anniversary!! My husband and I just celebrated our 5th last Friday. :) In five years, we would like to have at least one more baby, and we would like to live overseas again. We spent five years in Germany (my husband is in the Army) and we were able to travel all over Europe. The experiences were numerous and unforgettable, and I would love for our children to spend a few years in a foreign country. It was a little hard breaking out of my comfort zone, but so, SO worth it!
If I could have just one wish come true in the next 5 years, it would be to be mama to 2....or completely content to still be mama of 1.
Gosh. In 5 years I'd love to have a bunch of little babies running around. I'd like to be in a better place emotionally from the challenges of trying to conceive.
I'd also love to travel more. I'm spoiled and have traveled a ton, but more. Always more.
happy anniversary!!!
in five years from now i'm hoping our family will have grown and that we'll still be having tons of fun exploring and adventuring together! :-)
Definitely one of the biggest challenges...looking ahead to where you want to be and still staying present and enjoying the small things. In 5 years my littlest will be starting grade school and I don't know where I want to be because where I am is what I love:-) So, I am just hoping and praying that I will be as happy there as I am here. Maybe having learned to complain a little less:-) Can't believe you landed TEA! Quite an accomplishment! and enjoying your blog as always...I've even got my husband oogling your photography now.
In 5 years, my husband and I will be in our 15th year of marriage. My girls will be 8 and 6. We may have another one, or two, by then. And for the first time ever, I can say that we will still be here, because my hard working husband just got hired into a tenure-track job as a college professor!!
Congrats on your anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!
In five years...I hope to still be living in this house (We moved in a week ago and it would make for the longest time I've lived anywhere since I was 16). I will be celebrating 18 years of marriage, so maybe that year I should start planning a 20th anniversary trip. I want to have taught all three of my little ones to read and love to learn. I want to have time to sew again, as the littles are more independent.
Hey... your old playlist is back up! Now I can't hear it anymore... stupid Canadian licensing restrictions.
Happy Anniversary to you & Brett! How wonderful!
Five years from now, I hope to live in a bigger, newer house, just welcoming a 3rd baby into our lives, and finding my true calling for a career. Yep... I'll be 31 and finally figuring out what I want to be when I grow up. Or maybe not. ;)
Good job on the photo taking Lainey! Congrats on five years of marriage! In the next five yrs I would like to be married to by bf Kyle ( we have been together for 4 yrs), travel to Europe together and have a baby! You have such a beautiful family. I just love your blog
Vanessa xo
Great pics, Lainey!
In 5 years... teaching, loving our kindergartener (wow!) and my husband, owning a house, enjoying life, being more involved at church, being a better photographer, and maybe, just maybe qualifying for boston.
In 5 years, I'll be celebrating 10 years of marriage and a beautiful little girl who will be 6!
Happy anniversary to you and Brett! :-)
Yay for anniversaries! For our 5th, we took a 12-day trip to Australia....and I only cried half the flight from leaving my baby boy behind. :-)
In 5 years, I want to have a book deal. But even if I don't, I want to be good enough to have a book deal!
In 5 years I want to be here, where I am now but with lots and lots more kids! I have 2 now and we plan on adopting at least 3 more from Ethiopia! Can't wait!!
Aw man I am loving life right now, so five years from now I'll just say MORE please! Big and better, yes, but not too much different. I would LOVE to see my business fully thriving, enough for me to be doing some non-profit work, and for my husband to be doing something he loves. Honestly though, happy healthy family, in this cute little house we own in the neighborhood and city we love, that's really all that I can ask for.
Happy 5 years! It's so great to be married to your best friend.
And I love Lainey's overalls!
And I cried and bunch when watching all 3 BYU stories whenever you posted them to Facebook.
In 5 years, I want to have had our last baby. I want to have gone on a honeymoon with my husband since we have now been married 5 years and haven't taken one. I want to be living in a house that could be my forever home. I want to just be living and enjoying every minute:)
Happy anniversary!
Happy Anniversary! Love the photo booth pictures! We celebrated our 5 year in early June. We had pizza at Cici's and also had to haul everything out of basement to the garage because our power was out for 12 hours and the sump-pump stopped working. Good times and bad! Enjoy Kelle!
In five years, I want to be where you are - married to my wonderful "other-half" and enjoying every single day that is a blessing! Reading your blog has actually helped me focus more on what I want in life and think less about the things that could "hold me back". Thanks Kelle!
Lainey did a fab job on the photo booth pics! :)
We just celebrated 5 years this past December! 5 years from now, I hope we add another kid or two to our already lovely 2 kiddos, enjoy some fantastic vacations (maybe make it back to Sarasota, where my grandparents used to have a condo when I was growing up), and just love every minute of the joy of watching kids grow!
Congrats on five years and here's to many more!! In five years I hope to be the mommy to two little ones, fingers crossed living in our forever house and of course still madly in love with my awesome hubby. A girl can dream!!!
Congrats on 5 years!
In five years I want to be back at work very part time as a speech therapist, pursuing my Big Idea dream, and most importantly, more in love with my husband and babies!
I want to have another child by the time 5 years hits ... a sibling for our little one. :) I would like to be debt free & I'd like to be living in our own home (rather than a rented one). I'd also like to be self-employed and staying home full time! BIG DREAMS!
Lainey did a fabulous job on the photos!
LOVE the pictures! What a fun idea. Happy anniversary to you guys. What a way to celebrate... the whole country will now shoot off a ton of fireworks just for you!
Dear kelle, CONGRATULATIONS! I'd love that post, beautiful words and beautiful photos (as usual!).
I wish your love could last so many years from now.
kiss
Mary
Love Tea! My boys have their "Seoul" shirts.
In 5 years...I would like to be happier than I am today, more appreciative of everything I have, and living simpler days.
Congrats! Enjoy the holiday weekend. I was hoping you would post some tips on how to take good pix of fireworks! xo
In five years. . . oh boy, I want to be debt free, in a newly built house on our dream lot and have our then 6.5 and 8 year old kids to be thriving. But more than that, I want to be comfortable in my own skin. I want to work for something that means more to me than a paycheck. Oh and of course I would love to have seen the ocean sometime in the next 5 years - yes, I am 30 and yes, I have never seen the ocean!:(!!
Oh and am I the only one who noticed you asked us where we would be in 5 years and then wondered where we would be in 2026? ;)
Anniversaries are great (I wish there were more in a year)...
In five years, my girls will both be double digit ages so I am confident I'll still be sipping margaritas and toasting to their accomplishments, genuine spirit and bright future.
Happy anniversary to you both! I thought Brett resembled George Clooney in a couple of the pix. That is not a bad thing, ya know?
Happy 5-year Anniversary! Congrats!
5 years from now I hope and pray that hubs, our baby girl (due in 6 weeks), and I are getting settled in to our new home near family, friends, and the beach. I hate living where we do, in the desert, with no family or friends within 5 hours of us, but it has been a blessing because the lack of activities has allowed us to pay down our debt, which is also a dream of mine...that we will be debt-free in five years. We're on track!
Happy anniversary! My anniversary is on the 11th and we will be married 13 years. We've been together 21 years (started dating when I was 16) and have 4 children a dog, hamster and some fish. We're still dreaming too. Life is so good right now I can't imagine it getting any better. So in 5 years I hope to be enjoying more of the same with my family.
In five years I'd like to have a kid or 2 more in tow. I would also like a huge healthy garden that provides us with fresh vegetables all summer and into the fall. Other than that, I hope 5 years from now feels as good as right now. My family is healthy and happy and God is good to us!
In five years my little baby girl will be six years old, ad we hope to have her a little brother or sister by then. :)
ooh- 5 years? traveling, teaching, helping my oldest daughter prepare for college, exercising, reading, growing.
shen
In five years I hope to be living a little further south, soaking up sun with my three children, including my youngest with trisomy 18 who is a living miracle! I also hope to live down the street from my sister and her kids. We are a military family and have not yet had the chance to live close to family and can't wait until we can!
Happy Anniversary!
In five years, I'd like most things in my world to be the same. Married to a great guy. At home with my three little ones (who will be five years older!). Loving the good friends I am surrounded by. But I hope that in five years I am more calm, more confident, and finding joy in the little things instead of worrying so much.
In five years I hope to have a precious family of my own. Thank you for sharing your life, the highs and the lows, even though I don't have a family of my own yet, your journey inspires me every day. Thank you!
In 5 years, I hope that we may have another little one in our midst...I hope for a bit more money to be able to manage better...I hope my doula business is successful and becomes a full time job...I hope my hubby and I will still enjoy holding hands and kissing each other hello after a hard day's work.
CONGRATS to you two! Ten years.. wow...my first born will be 11 and a half... and hopefully we will have a couple more behind him!!
I hope my capacity to love continues to grow exponentially. I love your quote..."life takes center stage" Thank you for continuing to inspire!!
Happy Happy Anniversary! Pizza sounds good!! :)
In 5 years...
♥ I want to be out of the south (I wouldn't mind living in Atlanta & Florida isn't the south, hehe.)
♥ I would love to have another wee babe.
♥ Own a home & finally 'be settled'
♥ Be debt-free :)
Way to go Lainey. You are a photographer like your mama.
In 5 years I want to be debt free. I know it sounds like a silly thing but good god I HATE debt. I also want to have traveled to Hawaii (w/ in 2yrs--for our 10th anniversary), become the "cool" mom with the "cool" house for all the kids to hang out at after school (G-monkey starts Kindergarten in 2 months-sniff sniff) and I want to have become a better mom & wife-something I strive to do every day.
in 5 years..i want more kids....a new house...more money..but most importantly I want to be just as happy as I am now...or happier...
Adorable pictures! Happy anniversary! I hope it's wonderful. In 5 years, I will be almost celebrating 6 yrs of marriage and have an almost 5 yr old boy (due November) and hopefully another little one. Aw I cannot wait! Life keeps gettin' better.
In 5 years I wanna look back and smile, not regretting a thing!
2006 was a good year! My hubby and I will celebrate our 5 year anniversary in October. In 5 years, I would like my little to be a "big" brother and to continue to be the best momma i can be. Thanks for an always inspiring and beautiful post!
Five years, seems far away, but really just a blink away!
Honestly, I would like to be less stressed. With 4 kids, all under the age of 7, that can be hard! But I gotta say, I am still drooling over my 2 month old, so I don't quite want him to be 5yrs old yet :)
I LOVE your cute dog and Laneys overall pants... Adorable!
In five years we'll be about to celebrate our 14th anniversary but 25 years since we started dating. Wow, that makes me feel old! My girls will be 8 and nearly 10. Hopefully we'll have taken them on a trip to the UK to visit my husband's relatives over there. Other than that, I hope life is pretty much the same. :)
Happy Anniversary to you!
In 5 years I would like to be more finanically secure. Hopefully working on if not have already finished my teaching degree.
In my dreams, we'll finally own our own home. My husband will have the job that he deserves. We will have or in the process of making a little girl to add to our 2 boys.
Happy Anniversary!! Love the pics!
I see us living a new chapter in our lives as both our girls will be in school (1st and 4th grades), and myself still being Ruthie Homemaker cause that's what I was born to do.
Happy Anniversary!!!
Lainey is a great photobooth photographer!
congrats on 5!! gosh in 5 years. never thought of it. hope to have a little part time job since all 3 will be in school, a neater house, healthier eating habits for everyone and still enjoying the small things.
love the great job lainey did with the photography!
I absolutely agree it's important to look forward, while still enjoying the little real moments of today. Hopefully, in five years I will be able to stay at home with my kids full time and spend even more time with their imaginations, but in the meantime I'm going to enjoy every Super Hero Tea Party I can get!
i know 5 years is going to go by really fast. I hope to have 3 beautiful children then, I've got 1 down, 2 more to go! Congratulations!!! my hubby and I just celebrated our 7th yr anni and we couldn't be more happier, I'm glad to see that the 2 of you are happy as well.
5 years- Ashley Joy will be 8-1/2, Rusty will be 6, and baby in the oven will be 5. Hmmm- I hope to be doing what I am doing now. Falling more and more in love with these babies, and more and more in love with the man who helped me make them! Happy 5 years to a HOT couple! Still waiting on that "How We Met" story!
Happy 5 years! We’re just 10 ahead of you . . . we celebrate 15 years this month. I really need to borrow Lainey for some photo shoots. The girls got her mom’s mad skills!
Happy Anniversary to you two! :)
Where do I want to be in 5 years? Hopefully almost done with school or have a job already and starting a family. Wherever God takes me I am just fine with :)
Happy Anniversary!!! 5 years from now I want to be just as happy as I am now watching my girls grow!
Happy Anniversary! I love Tea too. Their clothes are so comfortable for kids...wish they'd make 'em in "big girl" sizes (like in a women's size 8).
In 5 years I want to be as happy or happier than I am now.
In 5 years we will have been married 25 years...I want to take a real- extended trip with my sweet man. Didnt get to do that at 10 (having a baby), 15 (just adopted), 20 (adopting again). At 25...yes!!!!
Love clothes at Tea. Love your babies. Thank you for your blog.
5 years from now I'd like my girls to all be in school and me JUST going back to work again. Although that is hard to imagine cause I have been out for a few years already, I know that is what I want to do when they are in school!
In 5 years... wow .. i'll have an 8 year old! I would love to be in a different house closer to my husband's job... to be able to have people over more and reach out to those lonely hearts who need to be welcomed in & treated like they belong.
In 5 years I want my sweet girl to have a sibling. :-) Love LOVE your blog!
In five years, our boys will be eight and five... (He's 2 months old now). I secretly hope there's one more who would be maybe two by then, so we could be done with diapers! Hehehe! Other than that, I hope things are still pretty much the same...I love my life!
Such a stinkin cute post, loved it!!!! Happy Anniversary and 4th of July :):):) btw loved the show last night. Cried like a baby ;)
Well first off, I just started following your blog. First blog in a while where I get excited to see a new post! One of my favorite things about your blog is how you dress your little gals. {in 5 years} I see myself having been married 15 years, with two boys, a 5 year old girl, and a life full of blessings. And if I'm lucky, little lady will be wearing clothes from the tea collection. :)
Wow, great job on the photos Lainey! I'm impressed.
Five years from now... I'll have an almost-five-year-old. Wow. And hopefully we'll have a couple more happy, healthy, little pairs of feet pitter-pattering down our hallway too.
And I hope that I'm doing something that makes me happy AND lets me stay home with my babies. Big dreams, I know. I want it so badly.
And I hope life is as beautiful as it is today.
Finished with grad school, working as an SLP with kids with DS.
In 5 years I would love to be married, with kids! We are hoping to adopt from Ethiopia, so I'd to have been there and back in 5 years as well!!
In five years my husband can retire from the Army after serving proudly for 20 years. Where will that take our family? He may he continue to serve our country or he may retire and make the jump to civilian life so we can settle down somewhere and grow roots. I may be working again after staying home for 10+ years with the kids and our oldest will be starting high school. I'm not sure exactly where we will be or how we will get there, but I'm hoping it's a great place where we want to be.
Happy FIVE to you and Brett!!! YEAH!!!
In another five I hope the huband and I are married 14 years AND we have three kiddos (9 yo, and 2 - 4.5 yo). I am currently pregnant with twins after a miscarriage at 20weeks pregnant in February.
In five years I hope I am content right where I am (it's a lofty goal).
It too, will be 5 years for us in 20 days. I still can't believe it. Where has the time gone? We will be celebrating by moving into our first house that week and having a campout in the back yard since we will probably be ther painting until late. How romantic. In five years I hope we will have another (or 2) littles running around our humble abode that we have fixed up with lots of personal touches that scream "us". I can't wait!
Congrats! We have the anniversary in the same year. :)
Is it horrible that I don't know exactly where I want to be in 5 years? I know that, ideally, I'd be living somewhere else, experiencing another place with my husband and kids. That's only if I can work up the courage! Other than that, I just pray that everyone is healthy and happy!
HAPPY 4th! AND..HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Our (34th) anniv is in two weeks. Love the children's clothes. Well, in five years - mine is minimal compared to others, maybe but it has alot to do with the fact that I deal with chronic pain. And some days are just hard to even get thru. So i just hope to not have an extreme increase in pain in five years. AND I hope to still be very involved in the lives of m grandkids. Love from the Blog Mama~
how cute and sweet you two are!!! great photos!!
congrats on five years, what an accomplishment!!
in five years, i want to acutally have a full-time teaching job. and i want to have been to australia :)
Happy Anniversary!
Wow, happy anniversary! Those pictures are such a great idea. :-D
In five years, I hope to be in college, working on making my dreams come true (which include having a large family with children as cute as yours). :-D
Enjoy the day!
in five years i want to be with my family. we'll probably have one or two more kids, hopefully my husband will be finishing up his phD, hopefully we'll be thinking about where we want to land permanently, but the thing that makes me feel peaceful amid the uncertainty? the fact that wherever we are in five years, we'll be together. that's where i want to be.
Love the overalls, adorable!! In five years, my oldest will be 12, and our baby will be almost 6! I hope we will continue to grow into who we are as a family, Ds ever present, but not our focal point. I hope we live each day of the next five years enjoying watching our girls grow into strong, confident, compassionate young ladies, who will light the world on fire. Thank you for this blog, you very effectively validate a lot of the feelings I have as a parent and as a parent of a child with Ds... sometimes it's like, "yeah, what she said!!" We are so blessing in so many amazing ways!
Happy Day to you both AND many more!
xoxo,
Terri
ps...July is a good anniversary month Bug & Ruby's Gram and Bacca celebrate 39 years on the 22nd, (yikes!), AND he still leaves the toilet seat up!
I'm loving the photo booth photos and the cute tea collection clothing! In five years, I want to be surrounded by my happy, healthy family running or helping to run an organization that benefits kids and the planet.
In five years, I hope we will be living somewhere tropical with several more kids and my hubby working a job he LOVES. We're working towards it!
In five years, we want to be blissfully enjoying our family of four, instead of three. Making time for things that matter. Working less, laughing more, and allowing ourselves to do things we might not have a year ago...staying up late on a school/work night, splurging on something our little one really wants and deserves, cooking meals every night, and saying "no" because life's not a rat race. It's here for us to savor. Love to y'all!
Your story is so inspiring. I have talked to people who have said that if they found out their child had down syndrome early on in the pregnancy, then they wouldn't go through with it. Sure it's a challenge and it's going to turn your world upside down, but it's such an amazing experience. You have your OWN child, you'll love them no matter how long it takes to get used to the idea of them having down syndrome. It's all about unconditional love, and this is throughout your blog. Lainey is such an amazing big sister to Nella too. You're very lucky to have such a happy family! x
Thats awesome!! Love the photos!!
YAY! Five years! I would love to doing something completely out of my comfort zone...maybe going to college again?!?!
Happy Anniversary :).
In 5 years I hope to have one more baby (I have 2 yr old twins right now). I hope to have an even stronger faith than I do now, I want it to be ignited and impossible to put out. I hope to still be alive and healthy and making more amazing memories!
Those overalls are too cute!!!
I wondered for the longest time if the word "plan" should be banned from my vocabulary, as well, nothing ever turned out as planned. Everything went topsy-turvy, can't make heads or tails of anything.
Turns out, it's even better.
In five years, I hope my husband and I have that farm, we faithfully pray for, and some munchkins rough-housing in the background.
Or maybe, life will be as it is now. And that's fine by me. I spend everyday with my best friend.
Happy 4th of July!
I would love to hear the story of how the two of you met.
I love looking at your wedding pics and the fact that you celebrate your anniversary.
We celebrate two. The day we got together (almost 21 years ago) and our wedding anniversary 12 years ago!
Hm, in 5 years time my gorgeous children will be 7, 9, 11 and 14. Wow! I really don't want to think of them not being little anymore, although I am sure there will be many exciting moments to come. My wish is that we are all happy and healthy and that our small 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house, will finally have the extension we have been wanting for 10 years!!!
I want SO much for my daughter and I to dance on the same stage together. Within the next five years it will happen!
In 5 years I'll be walking my oldest to his first day of 2nd grade - and my youngest will be off to kindergarten. So close yet so far away!!
In 5 years? Gosh, I will have a 13, 10, 8 and 5 year old. Yikes... that is scary reading that typed out. I think in 5 years, I want to be having a drink! ;o) LOL!
You guys are just the cutest. Happy Anniversary! In five years time, I'll have been married to my best friend for eight years, and I hope to be looking back upon it with the same loved-up happiness I have thus far :)
Five years! What a milestone! I'm just about to hit the 5 year mark next month :)
Yay for 5 years!! In five years we want to be done with our remodel and hopefully expecting another little one and of course more madly in love than we are now!
Love this post! Happy anniversary!
In five years, I hope to be finished with graduate school (ideally wrapping up a Ph.D. program) and living on our farm. And I really, really hope we have more kids by then, because my two toddlers are amazing and I'd love to have lots more.
Happy happy anniversary!
In five years? I just want to still feel the thrill of happiness I get from my kids each day.
Although if I could feel that thrill in a house with a bigger kitchen and a fenced in backyard, I would dig that, too :)
I'd love to be where you are now. I'm pregnant at the moment, so hopefully mom to a 4 year old girl!
Spending a summer night running around outside with my 3 little loves. My sweet baby is 5 days old-oh to think what she'll be like @ 5 years. Can't wait.
The video is awesome - just what the lady said in the video - it was NELLA that attached me to your blog. She is amazing and is sooooo lucky to have you for her mama. Be blessed. xo
Hey Happy Anniversary to you guys! Ours is on the 6th!
Enjoy the 4th and enjoy your littles!!!
Cheers and congrats,
Michelle ;)
Hmm...5 years from now . . . I will be 40, taking my 8-year-old to gymnastics, swimming, and the library. Hopefully, she will be as enamored with Laura Ingalls Wilder as I was :) I will still be laughing with my friends over a pitcher of sangria about silly mistakes made in my twenties (opps, thirties). I will be five years wiser, but still ready to embrace each day!
In 5 years I would like to have welcomed one more little baby, be even happier that we are now and take a trip to Disney World.
I hope to be as happy and busy as I am now.
Happy Anniversary! I love the photo...you two are hilarious:) We too will celebrate 5 years in August! What a 5 years it has been:)...It's hard to dream about the next 5 it means that my babies will be 9 & 8 o My! However, I look forward to baseball games, wrestling matches, dance recitals, and gymnastic meets...along side my husband as we proudly support are growing children and maybe eve have welcomed a third:)
Congratulations on your 5th anniversary. Love your pictures.
Hmmmm, five years from now I hope that my hubby (of 40 years) and I will be retired. I hope we live in a cute little cottage somewhere near water and are just enjoying this phase of our life.
In five years I want to be living in a new state, with my 2 beautiful girls aged 5 and 7. I want to be working in a secure job that I love. Being 38 weeks pregnant right now, I want to be back in good physical condition, lean and strong. I want my girls to be healthy and joyful. And I want us to be up to our ears in adventure.
Happy Anniversary!! Love all the photos!
In 5 years I hope to have gotten my degree and be working as an elementary special ed. teacher living in a different beach town in a nicer house. My kids will be 7 and 5. Wow!! And hopefully my husband will have a job he truly loves as well.
Happy anniversary! You two are adorable and so are all your kiddos! Congrats :)
In 5 years I'd love to have a second child and be enjoying the life of a mom of 2!!! And hopefully watching my daughter be kind to her smaller sibling!
Kelle,
Thank you for sharing a peek into your marriage! Happy 5, and many, many more to come!
In 5 years, I hope my husband and I are snuggling up with a couple kids by a fire in our backyard with our pups at our feet. We thought we would be there now, this year...but we know there is a plan and that there is A LOT of great in store for us, our job right now is to cultivate love all around us and stay open for when those babies find us!
Thanks again, Kelle, you are ALWAYS an inspiration to me!
~Jessica
Congrats!
Such happiness!
Love the way you presented that, with the photobooth-esque stories!
Love!

I love that Lainey took all the photos :)
In five years i hope to be married to my best friend. My highschool sweetheart. The one i have learned so much from over these past six years...and hopefully with a baby on my hip :D
A girl can dream right?
Have a great 4th!!
Melissa
7/1/16...I want to be with my beautiful family, which will hopefully be a couple of souls bigger. We just had our first child in May of this year, and I'm already wanting to experience all of it again, but at the same time, not wanting to cheat her of us enjoying every precious moment with her! I want a big family, lots of babies, and I want to home school all of them, and treasure every precious moment!
On 7-1-16, I will be the mother of a 4.5 year old and a 6.5 year old. And it will be wonderful, because I know that my girls will never go a day without love. That I know for sure, but what I would want life to look like is to find ourselves content in a home that suits us and our daughters. Also, knowing that my husband and I are content in our career choices and surrounded by both of our families.
Happy Anniversary!!! In five years, I hope to be a homeowner, married, a mother, and debt free.
Happy Day to the two of you! Our anniversary is this weekend as well! I hope that in five years, we will be smiling together as we watch our three kids (eek they will then be 8, 6 and 4!) spend a summer day playing outside together (happily without any fights if I am allowed to really dream!!) capped off by popsicles and storytime, and then with kisses given to each of them and bedtime prayers said, I hope that my husband and I will set off to enjoy a perfectly relaxing weekend, celebrating our 12th anniversary!
No...! Not one of those bracelets! Ha,ha...Did he try to get you to push his arm down once he was wearing it...? (That's the "awesome" demo they do at the State Fair each year when sell them!" I'm not hating though! :)
Congrats on your five year! So thankful for your guys faithfulness to each other, and your children! You guys seem like great parents!

Check out our fun one minute videos about our son who was born with Down Syndrome!
In 5 years, I hope to be settled down in a real house (we are military) with another baby to love. I also hope to be living back on the east coast and I want to follow my dreams of pursuing my career.
I hope to be in this very same place~ holding by babe while she sleeps. She'll be 1 in 3 days.
In 5 years I want to be in a new home with a new baby or baby on the way....
Congratulations on your fun partnership!
This year we celebrate 10 years of legally recognized marriage and 11 in our minds! A one and a one that makes a one and a two, a man and a woman, a magical combination. 11 in 2011.
Anyways, in 5 years i will be done with school, have my CNM under my belt and be back to attending births full time, witnessing the miracle of life and nuturing the soul journey of the women, babies' and families who find me... Oh, and loving my teenagers!
Happy Anniversary! Our five year is in Oct and I don't know where the time has gone. In five more, I dream of finally finishing my phd and getting my husband out of his emotionally toxic job. I dream of baby #2. But above all, I dream that the laughter never stops, the joy keeps growing, and we take the time to slow down and enjoy it all.
Happy Anniversary! My husband and I will also celebrate our 5 year anniversary this year. When we got married, agreed that we'd take a nice trip, just the two of us, every 5 year anniversary. But, with an infant at home, doesn't look like it'll happen for us this year. 5 years from now, I'm hoping to be walking hand-in-hand with my hubby beneath the cherry blossoms in Japan, celebrating 10 wonderful years of making our dreams come true.
What will life look like in 7-01-16? I'll have an 8.5 year old, 7 year old, and (Lord willing) a 4.5 year old...And who knows maybe another blessed surprise (age yet unknown). Man those ages sound OLD. :0( Just thinking that over I must have had a weird expression on my face, because hubby just asked, "reading something sad?" yes. the though of my babies being such CHILDREN in 5 years makes me sad. And yet, after a a day with more meltdowns and screaming fights than I can count...I hope these looong exhausting days of constant intense *presence* and parenting will be behind me. I hope 5 years from now brings about more laid back days of *enjoying* each other (sadly right now, I feel I'm just enduring these horrific stages). More joys, more hopes revealed, and more understanding of who we are as a family and what we are Called To.
Ah, just watched that video. So special. Made me cry. So funny - the two of you spoke so much about empathy and ended up making me cry.
Thanks for sharing your life with us!

Happy Anniversary! 5 years from now?? Not sure - where ever my kids take me :) Funny Pictures! we were just in a photo booth and the pictures are a blast!
Happy Anniversary!
Lainey is an excellent photographer. How did you get that effect?
And your kissy mouth? It looks a lot like a little "oh" mouth we see around here. ;)
Happy Anniversary! My friends told me to follow this blog....and I am so glad I did!
Five years from now......I want to be a full time stay at home mom. I hope to have 2 more kids by then (am I crazy?!?! That will make 4 total!) Maybe selling my garden produce at the local Farmer's Market.....and having my own strawberry patch.....and raspberry patch......and my poor blueberries actually looking healthy. And 5 years from now, I want to be a better mom....and a better wife....filling up the lives of my children and husband with love and memories and faith.
you guys are too adorable:)
I think in 5 years I just wanna be wherever this life takes me!
In five years? Hmmm....more kids, a home.. more love, more wisdom.
In five years... the little girl bun in my oven will be 4.5 years old and our Daughter will be 7! I hope, hope hope, we will be able to add a son one of those days! I hope we will be able to buy our first home in the next couple of years. I hope we will be able to move back to where we fell in love, California! Mostly, I hope to be deliriously happy and content in 5 years.
Congrats on five years! We just passed seven and every milestone gets better. In five years I want my family of five to be healthy and happy. Everything else is icing.
Happy 5 Years!! I adore the pictures of you and B! Miss Lainey did a great job :)
In 5 years I hope for my family to be as happy and healthy as we are today. I cannot even imagine my girls as 8 and 6 year olds!!! I hope that I have 1 more beeb, and maybe a beagle named Avocado.
smiles,
Nelly
Congrats on 5 years, and may you have 5x5x5 more!
Five years from now, I want my family to be God-centered and living lives of faith and love in Christ. I want my kids to be more adventurous than I was, Jesus-loving, and healthy. I'd also like to be thin and done my PhD! :)
In five years I will be married 41 years! How can that be? That happens to old people. LOL...that's who looks back at me in the mirror, but not how I feel...Here's to the next five years!
Tea please!
In 2016, I'll be 36 and my hubby will think I'm sexier than when I was 25. :) My kiddos will be the perfect age to take on a Disney Cruise. Whoot!! But my biggest goal is to have all our credit cards paid off by then. 2016 is looking pretty good from here.
Cheers to five years!
Five years from now I hope to be completely done with my BA and MA. Living somewhere new my (then) seven year old daughter but surrounded by love and laughter. We're getting there, slowly but surely.
Happy 5! In 5 years...I will be finger painting with the kids, after a day in the pool as a family, eating strawberries picked from our garden.
Happy Anniversary! I love living in the now, but I also love dreaming in the future. In 5 years, my biggest wish is for our health and happiness to grow stronger.
Five years... hum. I want all four of us to be healthy. I'd love to have all of our debt paid off (finally..), and well on our way to saving a down payment for a house-that-isn't-a-condo.... if we haven't already managed to make all that happen. I'd love a vacation that isn't to a relative's house, and the opportunity for my husband and I to get away by ourselves. Happiness. I'll take that for all of us.
Happy Anniversary! I'm actually scared of this question. My almost 5 year old starts school this year. I've been a SAHM for almost 7 years and I don't know much else. I would love to go to school but I am petrified of the "outside world." I've been at home so long with my babies that I don't know if I can handle it. All these fears and doubts run through my head. Can I handle it? Am I good enough? What if the college kids laugh at the almost 30 year old mommy? In 5 years, I'd love to have my RN degree and be happily adding to my husband's income and bettering our family's future but I have a lot to overcome before I can take that first step.
Five years from now I will be loving life, enjoying my family, watching my kids grow and change in ways I can only imagine. They will be 5 and 8 then. In 2016 I will be married for 10 years! Happy Anniversary! Always love your blog!
Congrats! I love these pictures. My husband and I have similar ones. :)
In 5 years, we will have been married for 8 years. Our son, Nate, will be 7, Lance will be 5 (he's due anytime now) and I would love to have just one more baby (hopefully a girl!).
But other than that, I want to be wherever my husband is. Living wherever he can fulfill his lifelong dreams and loving on our children.
Life doesn't get much better.
I want to be somewhere warmer that gets sun more than 12 weeks a year.
Happy Anniversary you two! Love the photobooth shoot, lovely to see some pics of you both together. Wow 5 years, I bet it's rushed by, I just realised today is our 11 week anniversary, I can't wait to see where we are in 5 years!
In 5 years my wonderful hubs and I will be celebrating 10 years together/ 8 years together! I hope and pray we have at least 1 maybe 2 more little ones!
Five years feels like ages or sometimes a flash....so, for me, I hope to be doing what I'm doing now, only with bigger kids! I love being a mom and learn and grow daily in my vocation. Congratulations!
That was the cutest anniversary post ever!
you guys are adorable.

Lovely and funny post! Hmmm...five years from now I will be in the middle of the summer with a rising kindergartener. (Oh my...reading that made my heart skip a few beats as I watch my 6-month old sleep peacefully...) We will be embarking on great adventures that only summer can bring :) Happy Holiday Weekend!!! E
In 5 years from now there will be me, Mike, Caden and Violet and baby number 3! Mike doesn't know this yet but it WILL happen, hehe! And we will be just as happy as we are now...super duper happy!
In five years, I want to be planning a big 4th of July bash in the house of our dreams, inviting all of our family and friends to come and help make it great. It'll be fun! :)
five years from now, I want to still be praising God everyday for my wonderful husband, my precious son, and possibly more children. I want to be a good wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
CONGRATULATIONS! We recently had our 4th anniversary, I hope that in ten years we will be exactly where we are now, but hopefully with one more little! We've had some bumps in the road of giving my girl a little brother or sister, and it's the only thing I'd change about our life. We have it all, health, love, happiness... all the other things are just extras.
Hmmm...five years from now, my twin girls will be 7 and a half. I hope that I'm at a place then where I don't cry so much at the fact that they keep getting older and bigger and there is nothing I can do to stop it.
Watched you on BYU last night. You rock...and so did Miss Nella!
Happy Anniversary!
Kim
happy anniversary! this is my first commet and i have to say, this is hands down the best giveaway i've ever encountered.
5 years from now I want to still be happily married, with at least one more kiddo in the family and my girl will be (gasp!) 7 years old. :( Hard to imagine...
In 5 years I want to be watching our 7 month old living her life as a big sister.
I love Tea, too! We just celebrated our 10th - aren't anniversaries awesome? In 5 years I hope life is very similar to what it is now. :)
